Festival Theme: Each year we like to give our festival a theme. In previous Sunderland Octoberfests we have used local myths & legends. Starting last year however we have decided to start featuring local Sunderland Heros: The the first of which was Harry Watts (1826-1913) whose name we featured on the 2013 festival Glass & T-shirt. This year we feature Sir Joseph Swann (1828-1914) the Sunderland hero who give us all light!
